Maquoketa Valley Electric Cooperative is a member of Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO), Cedar Rapids, Iowa. CIPCO is a generation and transmission cooperative supplying power to its 13 member distribution cooperatives covering a territory which stretches 300 miles diagonally across the state. As a state-of-the-art energy provider, CIPCO’s balanced portfolio is comprised of a diverse fuel mix of coal, hydro, wind, natural gas, landfill gas, solar, and oil resources. The majority of the power that CIPCO generates is emissions and carbon-free. Some of the renewable attributes are sold on the open market.
